  Budva is considered to be one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast. The legend confirmed by many Greek myths says that Budva

  was founded by Cadmus, the son of  Phonecian king Agenon. Expelled from Thebe, he arrived to this area by oxen-drawn cart and founded

  Budva.The rise of great Mediterranean cultures had influenced the spirit of this town which can be felt today when Budva has grown into a

  unique touristic pearl of this part of the Adriatic.

  This town has been known as a tourist destination since long time ago - the first tourists arrived here in 1923 and today Budva is often called

  the metropolis of tourism because it is the most visited place in Montenegro and one of the most visited on the Adriatic.

  What attracts people and brings them to Budva is primarily the scenery and the extraordinary beauty of the sun, the sea and numerous,  

  lined, sandy beaches at the foot of the magnificent mountains.

  The scenery of Budva’s Rivierra is intersected by picturesque towns abundant in natural beauties which give unforgettable grace to this part of

  the coast. Of those the most prominent are St.Stefan, Milocer and Petrovac. The great value of Budva lies in its cultural and historical

  heritage:numerous monuments, remains, fortresses, monasteries, churches etc.
